Future Rock Featured in Chicago Innerview Magazine

Chicago’s electronic jam impresarios Future Rock return this month doing what they do best: playing live. Having released two studio albums since the trio’s 2004 formation (2006’s Sugar Coated Bullets and 2007’s Gears), the group is gearing up for the May 18 release of their first official live CD, Live From Wicker Park, on Harmonized Records. What started out as a couple friends playing late-night shows and local afterparties has transitioned into a staple of the summer festival scene, where they are legendary for high-energy multi-sensory covers of Daft Punk (as Daft Rock) and Aphex Twin (as Aphex Rock) along with a uniquely overpowering dance rock/progressive house sound created by all three members of the band sampling, looping and layering their electronics live — not to mention a killer light show. Live From Wicker Park, featuring six previously unreleased tracks, was recorded in Chicago last summer and looks to become a staple of the city’s dance scene this summer as FR jumps from their biggest show ever at the Park West later this month followed by festival appearances at Summer Camp, Wakarusa and Camp Bisco.
